Get in touch
Call us at (331) 297-2515 or stop by 1749 S Naperville Rd, Wheaton, IL 60189. We're easiest to reach by phone during the day - leave a message with your address and what the door is doing (or not doing) and we'll call back with a time.
If you're not sure whether what you're hearing is a spring, a track, or an opener problem, describe it anyway. A door that won't close all the way, a door that reverses partway up, a loud bang followed by the door refusing to move - all of that tells us something before we ever see the garage.
You can also start from our site if you want to see what we cover before you call. We work out of the Naperville Road address listed above; that's where the trucks start each morning, not a call center routing you somewhere else.
Our services
Most of the doors we work on sit on houses built between 1938 and 2003, with the bulk of that stock going up in the 1960s and 70s - a range that spans steel sectional doors on torsion springs, older wood panel doors on extension springs, and everything the openers of those decades left behind.
We service Wheaton itself and work outward: Glen Ellyn, two miles off; Winfield, three miles; Carol Stream and Glendale Heights, five; Lisle and Warrenville, also five; West Chicago, six; and a wider ring out to Bloomingdale, Villa Park, Addison, Oakbrook Terrace, Bartlett, Oak Brook, Westmont, Roselle, Clarendon Hills, Elmhurst, Woodridge, Hanover Park, Itasca, Wayne, Hinsdale, Wood Dale, Darien, Berkeley, Batavia, Hillside, Willowbrook, Bensenville, and Westchester.
Springs, cables, rollers, and track alignment make up the bulk of the repair calls. Openers are the second most common - chain and belt drives from a wide range of ages, since a house built in the 1970s might have had its opener replaced twice by now and a house from the 1990s might still be on its original unit.
We also handle full door replacements when a repair isn't worth doing, and panel swaps when only one section of a sectional door has taken damage. This area sits in a cold, moderate climate band, and that matters for the hardware - springs and rollers rated for milder weather don't hold up the same way here.
Our limits
We don't do new construction framing or poured concrete slab work - if your garage floor needs to be replaced before a new door can go in, that's a different trade and we'll say so up front rather than take the job and sub it out quietly.
We also don't stock parts for every custom or imported door on sight. Across a service area with 263,398 owner-occupied houses among 542,515 households, most garages run standard steel sectional doors, and that's what we carry parts for. A specialty door ordered outside that standard line sometimes means a longer wait on the manufacturer's end, and we'll tell you that lead time instead of guessing.
And when a door is far enough gone - rusted track, a frame that's shifted, an opener bolted to rotted wood - replacement is the honest answer over another patch repair. We'd rather say that once than have you call again in six months for the same problem.
Questions
Yes. Glen Ellyn is about two miles from us, Winfield about three, and Carol Stream and Glendale Heights around five. We also reach out to Lisle, Warrenville, West Chicago, and towns further out toward Bartlett and Batavia. Call and give your address if you're not sure you're in range.
Mostly steel sectional doors on torsion springs, since most local housing went up in the 1960s and 70s. Older extension-spring setups on houses from nearer the 1938 end of the range still show up too. Openers vary a lot depending on when the house last had one replaced.
For standard steel sectional doors, yes, quickly. For a custom or imported door, sometimes the part has to come from the manufacturer, which takes longer. We'll tell you that lead time before we start rather than let you assume it's a same-day fix.
If it's a broken spring, cable, or roller on an otherwise solid door, repair usually makes sense. If the track has shifted, the frame is rusted through, or the opener's mounted to wood that's given out, replacement tends to cost less over time than another patch job. We'll say which one applies when we see it.
